The Board of Trustees of the Town of Keenesburg met in special session on Monday, April 27, 2009 at Keenesburg Town Hall located at 140 S. Main Street. Mayor Kipp called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
 
Pledge of Allegiance
 
Roll Call: Board members present: Trustees Cindy Baumgartner, Steve Brandt, Wendi Tyler, Leroy Blackston, and Richard Traxler, and Mayor Danny Kipp.
Board members absent: Trustee Tony Dreher (work conflict).
Others Present: Town Clerk, Debbie Chumley

Old Business
 
a.    Consideration of Safebuilt Contract for Building Department Services: 
Motion was made by Trustee Baumgarter, seconded by Trustee Tyler to approve the contract for Building Department Services with Safebuilt with the following changes: change free plan review for town projects to reflect a 50% discount, and section 20, the town will not have access to safebuilt’s financial records. The board directed the town clerk to advise Weld County to terminate the town’s contract for building services. Safebuilt will send sample ordinances to adopt the most current building codes and the town board will discuss what exemptions to building permits they would like to incorporate into the ordinance. It will be presented at the next meeting.
 
New Business: None.
                                         
 
Board Member Comments: Mayor Kipp advised the board of the upcoming 90th anniversary of the town’s incorporation. Staff would like to have a small celebration, hot dogs, a drawing for $90 off of a water bill. The board directed the town clerk to put a message in the newsletter searching for the resident with the longest time in Keenesburg, as well as entries for the $90 drawing. The resident with longest period of time in Keenesburg will be presented with a framed certificate. 
 
Adjournment: Motion was made by Trustee Tyler, seconded by Trustee Brandt to adjourn. The meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m. A workshop to review and update the personnel policy followed.
