December Meeting Schedule: Monday, December 6, 2010 Finance Committee Meeting @ 3:30 p.m. @ Town Hall Thursday, December 9, 2010 Planning Commission Meeting @ 7:00 p.m. @ Town Hall Monday, December 13, 2010 Board of Trustees Meeting @ 7:00 p.m. @ Town Hall The Board of Trustees will be considering a water rate increase during their December meeting. There has not been an increase since 2009, and the operating costs continue to grow. The 2011 Budget will be adopted during December’s meeting. Copies are available at town hall. Some of the planned expenditures include the purchase of a backhoe, striping machine, air conditioning for the town shop office for the protection of the electrical equipment, and new trees, landscaping, benches etc for the park, as well as the completion of the wastewater treatment facility expansion. In addition to these expenditures the town will hold a spring clean up day, a committee is working on a town event to be held in 2011, and the board has added a community support fund to the budget for the purpose of supporting local non profit organizations that would like to request financial support. The Town of Keenesburg town hall and public works will be closed on Friday and Monday December 24, and 27, 2010 for Christmas. Town Hall will be closed on Thursday, and Friday, December 30, and 31, 2010 for the New Year. Public Works will be closed on Friday, and Monday, December 31, 2010, and January 3, 2011 for the New Year. The Town of Keenesburg staff and elected officials wish to extend to you and your families a wish for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
PUBLIC WORKS REPORT-DECEMBER, 2010 We have recently completed the planting of ten new locust trees at Schey Park. We plan to add more trees next spring, as well as some lilac and rose bushes. The area south of the well house at the park will be getting some new landscaping too! We held a pre-bid meeting at Town Hall on November 22, 2010 to meet with contractors who will be bidding on the new expansion of the wastewater facility. The meeting went well and we anticipate a final approval from the State of Colorado sometime in December. The bids will be opened on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at 11: a.m. at Town Hall. |
