TOWN OF KEENESBURG BOARD OF TRUSTEES SPECIAL MEETING AGENDA MONDAY, JULY 26, 2010 6:00 P.M. KEENESBURG TOWN MEETING HALL The Board of Trustees of the Town of Keenesburg met in a special session on Monday, July 26, 2010 at Keenesburg Town Hall located at 140 S. Main Street. Mayor Kipp called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance Roll Call: Board members present: Trustees Cindy Baumgartner, Steve Brandt, Richard Traxler, Leroy Blackston, Sandra Beach, Wendi Tyler, and Mayor Danny Kipp. Board members absent: None. Others Present: Town Clerk, Debbie Chumley Mayor’s Address: None. Public Comments: Leonard Roskop, 30935 CR 8, Keenesburg, CO 80643: I have just one question to ask you tonight. If one of your immediate family members fell ill and there was a medicine that could relieve some of the symptoms, would you deny them access? I think the moratorium is denying patients access to medical marijuana. Not an advocate nor am I against it, however If there is something that can help, I think they should have readily available access to it. Mayor Kipp invited Mr. Roskop to attend the public hearing that will take place on Thursday August 12, and Monday, August 16 to voice his concerns for the record when the board considers banning the sale of Medical Marijuana in Keenesburg. Old Business: a. Emergency ORDINANCE 2010-03—Extending the Medical Marijuana Dispensary Moratorium: Motion was made by Trustee Baumgartner, seconded by Trustee Traxler to approve the extension of the Medical Marijuana Dispensary Moratorium; the motion carried 7-0. A roll call Vote was taken, Mayor Kipp, Trustees Baumgartner, Brandt, Traxler, Blackston, Beach, and Tyler voting yes. Board Member Information: b. 1) Impact of Prop 101, Amendments 60 & 61 Staff Reports Legal Engineering Public Works Board Member Comments: Trustee Brandt asked about the resolution that was passed in opposition of proposition 101, and Amendments 60 and 61. Mayor Kipp stated that it will be posted on the website, and that facts will be published in the newsletter. Tax payer dollars cannot be used to oppose these issues. Adjournment: Motion was made by Mayor Kipp, seconded by Trustee Brandt to adjourn the meeting; motion carried 7-0, Mayor Kipp, Trustees Baumgartner, Brandt, Traxler,Blackston, Beach, and Tyler voting yes.
