Please be aware that all contractors working within the town limits are required to have a contractors license through the Town of Keenesburg.  If a contractor is performing work for you please make sure that they obtain a contractors license so as not to delay your project.

The Town of Keenesburg is happy to announce the defeat of amendments 60, 61 and proposition 101.  This means that the town will be receiving the increased mill levy that was approved by the voters this past April.  The mill levy will go into effect for budget year 2011.  The interruption of the services that the town experienced this past year will end.  The residents will once again be able to enjoy the snow removal from all streets, we will be holding a spring clean-up dump day, contribution to fourth of July fireworks display, and the budget for law enforcement will also be increased.  Thank you voters!

The 2011 draft budget was presented to the Board of Trustees at the September 20, 2010 meeting, a copy of which is available at town hall.  The public hearing concerning the adoption of this budget is scheduled to be held on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at town hall located at 140 S. Main Street, Keenesburg, Co.  Some of the planned expenditures include the purchase of a backhoe, striping machine, air conditioning for the town shop office for the protection of the electrical equipment, and new trees, landscaping, benches etc for the park, as well as the completion of the wastewater treatment facility expansion.

The Town of Keenesburg town hall and public works will be closed on Thursday, November 11, 2010 for Veterans Day, as well as Thanksgiving Day and the day after Thanksgiving, November 25 and 26, 2010.  The Town of Keenesburg staff and elected officials wish to extend to you and your families a wish for a Happy Thanksgiving Holiday!

PUBLIC WORKS REPORT-NOVEMBER

2010

We have contracted with Guildner Pipeline to clean some of the older sewer lines in town. This type of frequent maintenance  will ensure better flows to the wastewater treatment facility, and help prevent any blockages. Property owners are responsible for sewer laterals to the main line.  In the event of a problem homeowner information is available at town hall.

The weather has been beautiful but unfortunately it will snow eventually!  We are prepared and have mounted the snow plow and sander to our maintenance vehicles.

Thank you to everyone for taking care of their trash and pumpkins following Halloween.  We greatly appreciate your efforts.

The park restrooms have been winterized and are closed for the season.
