We have scheduled this event for Friday, September 16-Sunday, September 18, 2011 from 8:00 a.m.—3:00 p.m. We have advertised in the Lost Creek Guide, and will have a small ad in the Brighton and Fort Lupton newspaper to run the two weeks prior to the sale. We did not have the participation to place a large placement ad, so we will place our ad in the classifieds garage sale section, and will additionally place several flyers in high traffic areas. Please let us know if you are participating so that we may add your address to the list that will be available on our website, and printed on the handouts for the day of the sale. You must contact Town Hall by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14 in order to have your address included in the flyer, and website. 303-732-4281 Take this opportunity to clean out your garage and basement! There is no charge to participate!! The High Plains Library District is holding a resume writing workshop at Community United Methodist Church, 155 South Main Street, Keenesburg, CO on Friday Oct 14 from 5:00—8:00 p.m., and on Saturday Oct 15 from 12:00—3:00 p.m. Plan to attend these helpful free workshops to tune up your resume! The Town of Keenesburg in conjunction with Lochbuie, and Hudson have arranged for the SBDC to have a traveling field office in each town to assist business people with business plans, expansion, start up’s, and general business counseling. This is a free service!!Jesse Esparza is the business counselor that will be available on a rotating basis in Keenesburg. His next visit to Keenesburg will be Thursday, October 26, 2011 in the public computer center at town hall from 8:00 a.m.—12:00 p.m. Keenesburg, Hudson, and Kersey along with Weld County have formed a committee to begin the process of putting together an Access Control Plan for Weld County Road 49. There will be additional information available as the process moves along, and opportunity for public input to preserve the functionality of Weld County Road 49 for now and into the future. Please watch for additional information in this newsletter. There are two public hearings scheduled for September. The purpose of the public hearings is to hear comments regarding a minor subdivision of the Sparrow Subdivision located east of Hoff Elementary school along CR 16 1/2 to CR 18. This parcel of land will be divided to create a 10 acre strip east of Hoff Elementary School from CR 16 1/2—Cr 18 for the purpose of dedication to the Town of Keenesburg. The town plans to use this space as open space, and park area in the future. The hearings are scheduled for Thursday, September 8, 2011, and Monday, September 19, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. located at 140 South Main Street in Keenesburg.
PUBLIC WORKS REPORT Conor Johnson, and Marc Johns have joined the public works department please take a moment to welcome them if you see them working around town. We are looking forward the accomplishments that we will make with a fully staffed public works department! Thank you for your support. Plans are under way to replace the pine tree located in Christmas Tree Park at the North End of South Main Street. We plan to have a new tree in place by the end of October.
