BURN PERMITS- March 24, 2020
April 27, 2020
Weld County Department of Public Health has lifted the open burn permit restrictions starting today, April 27th, in conjunction with the stay at home order being lifted county and statewide. The below language, from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, is still applicable for the time being, but we will begin issuing burn permits again. Each permit accepted will have the below language in the comments section:
“Due to continuing concerns with the COVID-19 pandemic and its associated threat to people with heart and/or lung disease, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) highly discourages open burning at this time. If burning is absolutely necessary, please be considerate of nearby residents, especially those who may be suffering from cardiac or respiratory ailments.”
The Town of Keenesburg and Southeast Weld Fire District will not be issuing any open burn permits within the town limits until further notice.
