Public Works OpeningThe Town of Keenesburg is seeking a full time public works employee. Experience with water, wastewater, streets, parks, and equipment maintenance is desirable, must be able to operate a variety of equipment. Valid driver’s license and self-motivation is a must. Starting pay $15.00/hour, benefits include insurance, 13 paid holidays, vacation, and a retirement plan. 2017 Budget. The Town of Keenesburg Trustees adopted the 2017 budget on December 12, 2016. The budget is available for your review on our website at townofkeenesburg.com.
The Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 starting at 11:00am for children up to 11 years-old. It will take place at Schey Park. This is a rain or shine event! Please plan to attend and bring your own basket.
Rabies Clinic The Town has scheduled the annual Rabies Clinic for Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 10am – Noon at the Town Shop, 400 S Lambert Street. This event is for the convenience of town residents to vaccinate pets (dogs & cats.) This service is offered at a discounted rate by a licensed veterinarian. Every dog within Town limits must be vaccinated. Also, all dog licenses will expire May 31, 2017 at which time, everyone is required to renew. In order to license your dog, you must provide proof of rabies, distemper and parvo vaccinations.
The Shred Event is scheduled for Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 9:00am – 12:00pm at Hudson Town Hall, 557 Ash Street. The SE Weld Chamber, Towns of Hudson, Keenesburg and Lochbuie would like to extend this opportunity for its citizens to shred any unwanted personal documents at no charge.
Code Enforcement/Dumpsters The Town of Keenesburg does have an ordinance (KMC 7-1-40) that requires trash containers be off the street, curb, sidewalk and all other public ways, except for the day of collection, and then only for 12 hours prior to collection and 12 after collection. Please make sure to remove your trash cans from the street and public right-of-ways. In addition to the trash can requirement, it is not allowed to have a container with a capacity of (1) cubic yard or larger (dumpsters) on any sidewalk, street, alley, or public right-of-way. These type of containers i.e., dumpsters, must be kept on private property on a concrete pad, and must be screened, located behind any structure on the property. Please be aware of this ordinance, as we will be enforcing this ordinance in the 2017 New Year in an effort to improve the appearance of our neighborhoods as well as preserve our sidewalks, curb and gutter. Chickens The Board of Trustees has approved the keeping of chicken hens within Town limits. Please visit Town Hall to complete the permit process, and is as follows: a completed application; a maximum of four (4) chickens per residence; the fee is $5.00 per chicken. The license will be valid January 1st through December 31st of the year. You must renew the license each year.
Business License renewals have been sent to all businesses as they expire yearly on January 1st. If you did not receive a renewal application, or would like to complete a new business license application, please contact Christina at Town Hall to complete this process. The Town requires all businesses within Town limits to be licensed. The license fee is $15.00 per year.
Public Works ReportPublic Works will be starting work at the town park. The restrooms will be open on May 1, 2017. Remember that dogs must be on a leash and cleaned up after. There are several trash cans located around the park for your convenience. If you are planning an event at the park, please contact Town Hall to let us know. We will make sure that we do not flood irrigate the park or lock the bathrooms.
